All-around wellness or nothing.
The wellness game has definitely changed and it’s gotten quite overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be intimidating. That’s what Colin Medhurst is trying to teach us.
There has been an overflow of information with regard to wellness. There are a lot of do’s and dont’s that everyone is trying to tell us. But luckily, we have workshops that simplify these trivial things.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a holistic health coach, yoga teacher, cancer guide and a student of western herbalism.
I am also a full time firefighter and photographer by day. My photos have been published in publications such as Veg Directory, The Province, Health Action News Magazine and SPUD. Most recently, I’m proud of my first book Feed Life: Nourishing, Easy and Delicious Recipes for You Whole Family.
Yes, I’m not your stereotypical firefighter—I’m powered by plants not steaks! You may have seen me on the TV show “Cooking With Fire” showing the world how easy and delicious it can be to be a herbivore.
I’m also a graduate of New York State University’s Institute of Integrative Nutrition and an experienced yoga and meditation practitioner and teacher. His classes are full of modern science and ancient wisdom. I’m passionate about sharing his experiences eating plant-based and having the abundant energy and strength to climb mountains!
My latest project is the business operations for Blue Heron Creamery, Vancouver’s first dairy free cheese company.
And through all this work, I balance itwith playing tabla (an indian folk drum) and bass guitar as well as much time in nature as possible.
What is the mission behind Feed Life?
Our purpose is to make plant-based, holistic, healthy-living easy and accessible. We do this through delicious, simple to create recipes, inspiring nutrition classes and mindfulness practices. We integrate cutting-edge research with effective tools to promote sustainable, vibrant living.
Our company was founded on our personal passion for cancer prevention and healing from cancer.
Although that is still very much our focus, we have broadened our scope to help anyone who is looking to make positive changes in their life to increase longevity and prevent disease. Since our first course in 2011, we’ve been teaching and coaching thousands of people towards better health through our culinary education, community and one-on-one consultations.
