Screenwriting is rewarding but requires hard work. It requires development, focus, patience, and a lot more patience. Screenwriting takes a lot of imagination, skill, and heart.
Today’s fieldtripp in focus is Introduction to Screenwriting, taught by Raindance Vancouver. However, don’t be intimidated! This workshop is not created exclusively for screenwriters. If you are an artist at heart who has a penchant for storytelling and character development, this class if for you.
Screenwriting takes more than just writing skills. It’s for the people who have an interest in developing scene after scene, creating a story—it’s how lines are read and interpreted, and given life.
This fieldtripp is for creatives who have an interest in learning how to write for film with the help of Raindance Vancouver and Michelle Muldoon, an award-winning writer based in Vancouver, Canada. Michelle is the creator and producer of the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival Screenplay Competition, as well as the Writers Room, an alumni writing event and community associated with the Action on Film (AOF) International Film Festival.
This course will teach you about the basics of writing; from structure to development, character development, dialogue and scene direction, and a lot more. You will not only leave with information and guidance regarding screenwriting but also with new connections with people who have the same interest as yours.
